**Job Overview**
At Farndon Day Nursery, we are passionate about providing a warm, nurturing environment where children can thrive - and that includes healthy, delicious meals every day. We’re looking for a friendly and organised **Nursery Cook** to join our team and play a vital role in the daily life of our nursery.
**The Role**:
As our Nursery Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children aged [9 months to 4 years], taking into account dietary requirements, allergies, and individual needs.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Plan weekly menus in line with healthy eating guidelines
- Prepare and cook lunch and snacks for children daily
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in the kitchen
- Manage food stock and place orders as needed
- Record temperatures and complete food safety documentation
- Work closely with nursery staff to understand children’s dietary needs
**What We’re Looking For**:
- Ideally some experience required but not necessary as training will be provided
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- A warm, caring nature and the ability to work independently
- An understanding of food allergies and intolerance management
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
