Specsavers are looking for a highly experienced Optometrist or Contact Lens Optician to become their new Director / Store Partner across both Washington and Washington Galleries stores. **About the stores**

Specsavers in Washington first opened its doors in 1996. The store sits in a prominent position in a busy shopping centre and is firmly embedded within the local community. Washington Galleries Specsavers was opened in the nearby Sainsburys store in 2018 by the same partners, allowing for greater capacity. Both stores are located in the Galleries shopping centre and are a short walk from each other. Many large retailers are based nearby including Wilko’s, Boots, Iceland, Asda and Superdrug. M&S food, Next, Halfords and Aldi are situated just over the road.

Specsavers in Washington and Washington Galleries pride themselves in ensuring that every one of their customers receives an excellent patient experience. The high levels of service and patient care have led to numerous positive customer reviews and an excellent local reputation.

Washington boasts 4 test room whilst Galleries has 2 - all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT and eye refract - meaning you will have everything you need to perform sight tests to the highest possible standards.

A combined team of 29 dedicated and passionate colleagues call these stores home and all are as passionate as one store as they are the other, the team provide a “fluidity” between both businesses and are happy to split their time between the sites depending on needs. The existing Partners are really passionate about the clinical development of the team, and as the new CLO or Optometry Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

**Store location**

The locations within The Galleries Shopping Centre provide mean there is plenty of free parking for both stores and with excellent transport links, the stores are easily accessible for all. The A1 is practically on its doorstep and connects towns such as Newcastle upon Tyne in the North and Durham in the South. Newcastle airport is only 14 miles away and regular buses ferry customers from nearby towns and villages. There’s something here for everyone: from shops, bars and restaurants to museums and parks for families to enjoy. As the new CLO or Optometry Partner your customer base will be very diverse - but there’ll plenty of familiar faces too.

**Requirements of the role**

Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Optometrist or a qualified CLO with the drive, passion and willingness to maintain the customer-focused culture and the high standards of this successful store. As the new Optometry/CLO Partner, you’ll be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the existing team, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
