Prison Health Care Team Leader

**About the role and our team**
Are you a registered nurse with experience working in a prison or other secure environment, and looking for a new and challenging opportunity?
We have a unique opportunity to join our small but proactive healthcare team within the Isle of Man Prison as a Band 7 Prison Health Care Team Leader
In your role, you will lead the healthcare department utilising your skills and experience to shape and develop the service. Prisons are one of the most challenging and unique places for healthcare professionals to work, so if you’re looking for a role where you can make a tangible difference, enhance your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of all clinical services delivered within the prison, including medication administration, nursing clinics, GP clinics, dental services, mental health and substance misuse services. You will be responsible for performance-monitoring and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. This is a senior role within the prison and you’ll be taking responsibility for service outcomes at a local level.
Our nurses are supported by a General Practitioner, Pharmacy Technician and Allied Health Professionals to address the holistic needs of patients and to facilitate service development and innovative practice. You will work closely with colleagues within the Isle of Man Prison Service in order to ensure safe, appropriate and timely medical care.
**What can this role offer me?**
By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.
Full security training will be provided to you. You’ll also have access to our in-house learning and development centre to complete training courses to allow you to build on and develop your skills. You can find out more about our learning and development opportunities here.
Free on-site parking will be available.
