The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Kitchen Porter to join the team.

Working in a fast paced and busy kitchen environment, the Kitchen Porter has responsibility for cleaning and tidying the kitchen areas, food stores, fridges, corridors and kitchen equipment including pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils.

**About the Role**:

- Ensure thorough cleaning of kitchen pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
- Load the dish washer with crockery and cutlery items, operate unload and stack away after each completed cycle.
- Adhere to all cleaning schedule in place as agreed by the Executive and /or Head Chef and adhering to the COSHH system in place.
- Maintain the cleaning schedule.
- Use appropriate chemicals for cleaning.
- Empty and dispose of waste food bins and all kitchen rubbish to include cardboard, wastepaper, bottles and recycling.
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of food stores, fridges and corridors.
- Ensure kitchen floors are kept clean and safe at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of bins.
- Ensuring all equipment is clean and put away correctly.
- Deep cleaning fridges and storerooms to maintain sanitary and kitchen safety standards.
- Maintain chemical store and reorder when required.
- Replenish kitchen towels/paper rolls when required
- Always maintain a positive and proactive attitude and seek to improve and advance your skill set and performance.
- Complete requisite training as directed by Senior Chefs and Management.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, the Staff Code of Conduct and company policies.
- Follow the directions of the Sous and Head Chef’s and provide support through the completion of additional tasks as necessary.

**About You**:

- Ability to work well on own initiative and with others in a team.
- Good level of physical fitness. This position may require standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy objects. The schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Good time management skills - our kitchen gets busy, so keeping on top of routine tasks whilst being able to deal with ad-hoc extra duties is essential.
- Ability to communicate well across the team.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and follow instruction.
- Individuals with previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but training will be given.

**Health, Safety and Security**
- Comply with Health and Safety and fire training in accordance with hotel training.
- Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by Management.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Zero hours contract
