**The Main Purpose of the Brickwork/MultiSkills Tutor**

To be responsible for the use of appropriate assessment methods, the achievement of learning and teaching goals and the recording of learner activity.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- To contribute to the management of learning programmes including quality assurance through the use of appropriate assessment methods to inform planning, student guidance and counselling, coaching, mentoring and student administration.
- To contribute to course verification, course leadership and/ or significant research / consultancy activity.
- As levels of accountability increase to be responsible for the co-ordination of course teams and students in a specific programme area to ensure the effective delivery of curriculum.
- To manage the classroom environment and teach on a range of further and higher education courses and assess students as required, ensuring that all learners receive the support they require to meet their individual learning needs.
- To recruit and select full-time and part-time students onto relevant programmes and meet enrolment targets.
- To agree a provisional schedule of work (case loading) with line management for the forthcoming academic year.
- To confirm the range of duties, levels of responsibility and achievements within areas of responsibility in relation to performance linked progression issues.
- To contribute to the guidance and support afforded to all staff within the in the Department/Faculty as appropriate.
- To work flexibly in order to meet the requirements of the post and the College.
- To proactively undertake all mandatory and job specific training as required and to take ownership of personal development within the role in identifying any personal training needs and to be prepared to develop additional skills and update these in accordance with legislation as required.
- To contribute to the departmental annual Self-Assessment Report (SAR), the service level agreements, operating and action plans, Property Strategy and Estates Strategy
- To participate in College's staff appraisal system and staff development plan
- To undertake any such other appropriate duties in keeping with your role as deemed necessary by your Line Management to satisfy the needs of the business.
- **Professional Development**:

- To update regularly in your specialist area(s) and to participate in staff development activities including sharing good practice as required and submitting timely CPD records.
- To actively participate in any scheme of regular performance review and appraisal adopted by the College Group.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£36,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Teaching: 1 year (preferred)
- Bricklaying: 1 year (preferred)
