Real Chemistry is looking for a Manager, Media Relations to join our growing team

Job Summary:
This role serves as a hybrid role between traditional PR account handling and media expertise, within the integrated health communications discipline.

Real Chemistry continues to improve how we communicate about health in the media, and we need to create a whole new pool of experts who can seamlessly integrate between the industry and the media. This is an excellent opportunity for a media expert looking to get into health or a health expert looking to get into media, supported by a diverse group of people who are all crafting their own expertise within the industry from a range of backgrounds.

The EMEA specialist media team is made up of around 10 media specialists who sit within the larger integrated communications team here in the UK and is also close cousins with the US media team, made up of 50+ media experts. This role presents the opportunity to be part of shaping the future of the media team’s future as a key player in the wider health story for the world. The successful applicant will have the option to work across COVID, oncology, rare diseases, obesity, and consumer health, alongside being an agile pair of hands across media-centric projects across the business.

What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for exceptional client service and account management activities for 3-4 accounts- May serve as day-to-day client contact for media needs on select accounts and as a strong #2 on others- Manage and own media engagement across range of media types (traditional, new media channels, etc.)- Manage media projects by anticipating challenges, maintaining media budgets, and collaborating with cross functional teams- Maintain core relationships with reporters by meeting regularly and sharing learnings with teams and clients- Support overall account development, resourcing fiscal performance and growth- Support day-to-day client contact in executing ad hoc requests and delivering planned activities and materials- Develop draft scope of works, contracts, presentations, creative briefs, PR and marketing materials and other internal/external communications- Ensure client feedback is gathered, understood and addressed as appropriate across deliverables and internally- Document status and otherwise communicate need-to-know information to all project stakeholders to ensure progression along critical path- Sets meetings, provides agendas and contact reports- Ability to run client calls or meetings independently- Manage account finances; must be able to track budget, raise invoices and POs
