**Job description: Personal Care Assistant**

**Job type: Permanent - Part Time**

**Shifts available**:
**1 x 13 hour Night shift.**

**Plus alternating**

**1 x 6 hour shift = 6pm to Midnight**

**And 1 x 7 hour shifts = Midnight to 7am**

To provide complex care for a 53 year old gentlemen who has Muscular Dystrophy.

You will carry out all of the same duties as a Care Assistant. However, you will may also deliver some specialist clinical care including PEG Feeding Stoma Care, Non-Invasive Ventilator Care, Nebuliser Care, Cough Assistane Machine, Mouth Care. And a Communication Device. We provide full training on all these procedures.

You will need an absolute minimum of one year previous care experience, either with a care provider, a nursing home or hospital setting, or looking after a family member with complex care needs. Have a good understanding and experience in skills such as moving and handling.

**Duties**:

- Assist client with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Perform light housekeeping tasks
- Follow a full care plan based on this individual’s needs
- Keep accurate records of care provided.

**Qualifications**:

- An NVQ 2 or equivalent is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with client and his family
- Ability to drive or travel to clients' home as required
- Proficiency in IT for record keeping and communication purposes
- Fluent in English to ensure clear and effective communication
