**Head of Commercial - Capital Delivery**

**Contract Type: Permanent**

**Location: Hybrid working with a travel across our networks**

**Salary: £75,000-£85,000 depending on experience**

**About The Role**

As Head of Commercial you will be accountable for commercial management, procurement strategy, key client and supply chain relationships and workload planning for delivery of Cadent’s key Capital Delivery third party construction contracts and network asset replacement programmes

You will be leading a team of 10-20, comprising commercial managers, quantity surveyors, buyers and administrators and externally sourced project staff aligned to the business unit outputs.

As the lead for the Capital Delivery across all contractual arrangements; you’ll ensure operations, performance and payments are within commercial terms and financial governance. Overseeing all procurement activities and the implementation of new contractual arrangements.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Managing and looking to maximise opportunities within the business unit annual turnover which is in the order of £125m pa
- The role will require the management of the Senior Quantity Surveyors (Senior QS) who support the live construction contracts, delivering asset health, third party contracts and above 7 bar work programmes
- The role will also involve supporting the development of asset upgrade strategies across the four operating networks to identify large and complex projects that would benefit from a programme-based delivery approach
- The role involves membership of the Capital Delivery senior management team
- Builds and maintains effective supplier relationships
- Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders
- Exec and Board level engagement in terms of developing future delivery and contracting approach

**About You**
- Strong commercial leadership and experience of providing commercial control over large construction projects
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and key business drivers
- Experience of managing different forms of contracts/framework agreements (NEC, TERM etc)
- Experience of developing legal documentation to address project delivery solutions
- Experience of contract account and dispute management and resolution
- Experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify commercial opportunities across the value stream
- Experience in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders in order to drive commercial savings
- Knowledge of the procurement process and engagement of strategic suppliers
- Experience in leading and developing commercial teams
- Experience in presenting to multiple stakeholders
- Experience of managing multiple demands/projects and delivering to deadlines
