**Kitchen Assistant -Weekday and Weekend**

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work at our 31-bed Nursing Home in Dorking, Surrey with a CQC 'Good' rating in all domains. The home is situated in a beautiful location and has a friendly and longstanding team of staff working in a family-like environment. We offer general and palliative nursing care to our elderly residents.

We pride ourselves on offering a service that our staff would use for their loved ones, should the necessity arise. We need staff who are committed to this same standard of care.

**Skills & Responsibilities**
- Experience in a similar environment of working in a Care Home for Dementia and Elderly Care.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
- Successfully working under pressure and meet time deadlines.
- To make sure our residents receive quality care and support in the best possible surroundings.
- Must comply with company standards, policies and procedures for cleanliness and food preparation to ensure the residents are being catered efficiently.
- Minimise the risk of accidents and waste by effective working under supervision and ensuring all areas are hazard free and clean at all times.
- Ensure that the work is carried in a safe environment in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure that all COSHH records are maintained and updated when necessary.
- Fully aware and comply with infection control policies and procedures and appropriate hand hygiene techniques.

**Kitchen Assistant**
- Assisting in the preparation, cooking and serving of meal.
- Wash, dry and store all kitchen items to achieve compliance with company standards, policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the highest standards in cleanliness, food safety and hygiene to ensure the residents are being catered efficiently.
- Maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures.

We provide a full induction and pride ourselves in the support and training opportunities that we offer staff to improve and develop their skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
