Are youa highly motivated, experienced nurse looking to join a friendly team at Westminster Memorial Hospital as a Senior Sister?

The Senior Sister will work with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, caring for the needs of 15 inpatients which will include patients from the acute hospitals and the local community.

Patients we care for are predominately older people rehabilitation patients. We also have dedicated End of Life Suites and are very proud of the outstanding end of life care we provide to our patients and their families.

As the Senior Sister you will drive change with a flexible approach, be open able to support and motivate your team. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate your passion and drive for quality improvement. You will be able to extend and share your skills and experience in supporting and developing staff to promote and deliver the highest standards of care.

We have a generous relocation package of up to £10,000 if you are looking to relocate to the beautiful coast of Dorset.

Responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality services with a focus on integrated care which always considers people’s safety, privacy and dignity.

Day-to-day management and leadership of a clinical team. You will need excellent communication skills to ensure the multi-disciplinary team feel valued and understand what you and the trusts expectations are. You will need to lead the multi-disciplinary team in order that patients are assessed appropriately, expectations of patients and families are managed with regards to discharge planning in an appropriate and timely manner.

The post holder will have continuing responsibility for the ward, to include the efficient management of resources and monitoring of quality standards.

You will ensure there are robust rosters in place and manage absence in line with trust policy.

You will require excellent organisational skills as the job is demanding, but also extremely rewarding. It is important to be able to prioritise your workload, but also be mindful of your own wellbeing.

You will work closely with Matron in order to provide assurances that the ward is caring, well led, safe, effective, and responsive to peoples needs

To act as a champion for clinical standards and for continuous improvement in the service user experience.

To ensure the delivery of up to date evidence based practice.

Contribute to the planning and design of services in line with Trust, locality and government objectives to meet the needs of local people.
