The company supplies black, green, speciality, fruit & herbal teas, and offers private label solutions.
We are looking to recruit a Production Planner to join the team in Newcastle.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager you will be expected to manage the day-to-day tasks related to the planning of production and the scheduling of materials. This role also requires you to Co-ordinate with internal colleagues to ensure the receipt and dispatch of tea and materials in a timely manner to meet production plans. Lastly, you will be responsible for maintaining the longer-term planning schedule, through interpreting the longer-term customer forecast, and turning this into a production plan.
- Maintain and improve the safety, legality and quality of products manufactured in accordance with food safety and quality policy.
- Liaise with the Customer Service department daily to determine customer requirements and meet shipment dates.
- Member of the internal audit team
- Generate weekly production schedules and labour plans for the EGW site detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion date.
- Agree, communicate, and develop short term production plan
- Plan production areas to maximise output and labour recovery based on established planning guidelines.
- Generate forward looking production plans that enable a stable outlook of capacity to be achieved.
- Collects, assess, and monitor data about the production and team's performance through daily KPIs, challenging and understanding where performance is different from what was expected and address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
- Collaborate efficiently with all other stakeholders to ensure a good flow of communication is established.
- Maintenance and daily management of the production Scheduling planning systems.
- Monitor stock cover daily on MTS (Make to Stock) SKUs avoiding stock outs and overstocks where possible.
- Monitor the daily availability of materials managed by the Purchasing and Tea buying teams, challenging as necessary when materials are not available as required.
- Understand forecasts for specified products and challenge where necessary.
- Keep communication flow with Production and Customer Service teams daily, ensure that through meetings and other communication channels, all departments involved are aware of any plan changes/requirements and of any other potential issues.
- Ensure all plans are feasible in terms of material supply, notify production and Customer Service of potential material shortfalls and impact to service in a timely manner.
- Always take an active part in the continuous improvement of all operations ensuring adherence to Company’s Health & Safety policies.
- Utilise the forecasted customer data provided to generate optimised production plans.
