Role: Senior Support Worker Location: Treharris, Merthyr Tydfil **Salary**: £11.15 - £12.48 per hour based on 45.5 hours on shift depending on experience. It takes a special type of person to dedicate their career to supporting others. Your patience, empathy and caring nature make you the ideal person to support the young people who reside at our home in Treharris. Much of your role will be spent supporting the day-to-day management of your team within the house and ensuring the highest quality of service is provided for our children through their person centred care plans and that staff are encouraged and supported to achieve and exceed their full potential. A day in the life of a Senior Support Worker with Priority Childcare Involves: - Providing leadership to less experienced staff to ensure the development of best resident care practice and optimal outcomes for the children; - Improving the quality of life of the children who live in the home including preparing healthy meals; - Promoting the rights of the children to be treated with dignity and respect in every aspect of their lives; - Establishing supportive relationships with the children and encourage the development of stable relationships between the children and other staff, and their families and friends; - Ensuring that all care plans, key-working files and care files are updated and accurate and maintained; - Supporting the staff team in their role of key-worker and facilitate training as required; - Ensuring the protection of resident students from significant harm, by exercising vigilance, observing changes in the children’s behaviour or appearance. To be a successful Senior Support Worker with Priority Childcare, you’ll need: - QCF Level 3 is essential (at very least close to completion) plus experience as a Key Worker; - A can-do attitude, caring and reliable nature; - Compassion and empathy; - Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice; - A strong work ethic; - Excellent communication; - Ability to work flexibly; - Hold a current valid driver’s license.
