Freeman Catering Butchers are one of the leading catering butchers within the North East.

We are currently recruiting for a store person to work in our large meat factory based on Team Valley Trading Estate

You will be reporting directly to our Factory Manager but also working closely with both the Technical and Operations Manager.

Your key duties will be:

- Ensure that goods are received as per supplier’s raw material/packaging specification and in accordance with the approved supplier list.
- Ensure that all stock is appropriately rotated using the FIFO system (First in, First out) and that all storage areas are kept in a clean, organised and presentable state.
- Maintain traceability of product, including any supplier status i.e. Red Tractor/Halal/BQAP via product batch labels and goods intake records.
- Ensure primary packaging is booked in, batch coded, labelled, stored in the correct area and stock rotated using the FIFO system (First in, first out).
- Document any raw material/packaging being returned to the supplier as per Raw Material/Packaging Returns Procedure, making sure the Technical Manager is informed to be able to communicate issues and returns to the supplier.
- Keep the goods in area clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensure raw materials requiring temperature control are placed in their appropriately temperature-controlled areas in a timely fashion in order to avoid a break in the cool chain and possible microbiological issues
- Constantly monitor raw material dates, and communicate any short-dated product to the Business Development Manager to give him the opportunity to try to sell them on as special offers.
- Report any depleting raw materials or packaging to the office to raise purchase orders.
- Receive any customer returns from drivers and document as per QM.10.09 - Product Return Procedure, ensuring that the Technical Manager is informed and that the product is stored and quarantined appropriately.
- Complete daily and weekly forklift truck checks and report any anomalies to the Technical Manager.
- Carry out ingredient and packaging Stock Takes as per the Directors requests.
- Communicate late deliveries/no show deliveries to the office to contact suppliers.
- Carry out any other requests from Senior Management required to improve and enrich the business.
- Carry out any other request by the Technical Manager regarding issues with a potential effect on product safety, factory hygiene or health and safety.

We are looking for hardworking individuals with a great work ethic and are able to work alone as well as in a team environment.

**_This position is full time and salary is negotiable for the right person_**

**Salary**: From £9.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
