There are x2 posts available for roles as an IMT3 or ST4+ level trainee in general & geriatric medicine.
The role is of an IMT3 or ST4+ level trainee in general & geriatric medicine. The post-holder will join the current team of junior doctors in the Elderly Medicine Department. They will be based on the medicine for the elderly wards, acute frailty, and surgical liaison services. There will also be opportunities to attend clinics.
**Post 1**: primarily involves inpatient ward work in the Medicine for the Elderly wards (Witherow, Lewis Loyd, Thistle) as well as the acute Frailty team and surgical/orthopaedic liaison. As part of the Elderly Medicine team, the post holder will also work closely with therapies, discharge team and social workers as well as liaise with community teams. Inpatient and outpatient duties are all well supported by a consultant Geriatrician.
**Post 2**: primarily involves inpatient ward work in the surgical liaison department; orthogeriatrics, major trauma surgical liaison and surgical stepdown unit.
