**Main Childcare Responsibilities**:

- Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery’s aims and objectives are fulfilled.
- To develop and maintain good relationships and communications with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring needs
- To prepare and supervise suitable activities to help create and develop a stimulating environment in which children are encouraged to socialise and develop to their full potential. These could include free play, music, art and craft, storytelling, walldisplays etc.
- To assess and record the progress of designated children within your care, identify strengths and next steps and to offer stimulating activities to develop both.
- To care for the well-being of the children including washing them after accidents, administering simple first aid and caring for children taken ill until parents collect them.
- Maintain the necessary steps to ensure the management of children’s behaviour and maintain self-control when dealing with difficult or disruptive children.
- Ensure someone known to the nursery collects a child.
- To effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of the children are met.
- To be involved in training of childcare students, and co-operate with student projects.
