Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and outgoing Host to join our team. As Host you will play a critical role in being the first point of contact for guests, welcoming them to the venue, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience from arrival to departure.

**Responsibilities**:

- Guest Welcome and Engagement
- Liaise with venue security staff via radio to process bookings or walk ins to ensure the smooth arrival of customers coming up from the ground floor.
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, check them in if necessary, provide information about the rooftop bar and escort them to their tables or seating areas.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and approachable manner, answer questions about menu offerings, special promotions, and the rooftop experience.
- Anticipate customer needs and assist with any requests or inquiries they may have.

2. Bookings Management:

- Manage bookings through Design My Night by checking bookings in and updating any booking details.
- Maintain an organised seating plan, optimising table allocations to maximize seating capacity while ensuring smooth service flow.
- Monitor impending bookings and coordinate with venue staff staff to prepare for incoming guests to ensure timely seating.

3. Guest Relations and Problem Resolution
- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints courteously and professionally, demonstrating empathy, problem-solving skills and a calm head to address issues and resolve concerns.
- Act as a liaison between customers and management, escalating any unresolved issues or special requests to the duty manager on shift.
- Proactively identify opportunities to exceed guest expectations and enhance the overall guest experience.

4. Atmosphere and Ambiance:

- Assist in maintaining a welcoming and inviting atmosphere, showing cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to expected venue standards.
- Monitor guest behaviour and enforce house policies and safety regulations to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable environment for all customers.

5. Promotion and Sales Assistance:

- Assist in promoting any special offers or seasonal promotions to guests, upselling where possible.
- Provide information about upcoming events, entertainment, and promotions to guests, and encourage participation to drive revenue and enhance guest engagement.

Essentials
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably in a bar, restaurant, or similar setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage reservations efficiently and handle multiple tasks at the same time.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist guests and team members.
- Knowledge of online reservation systems and basic computer skills for managing bookings and guest information.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
