Transport Planner

**About the Role**

**Transcentral **is one of the UK’s leading providers of logístical support. We have a number of sites with a wide variety of vehicles on our fleet. This role is based in our busy Cannock depot, which is a modern, progressive and expanding site. We provide both general haulage and just in time (JIT) transport for our customers.

The Cannock site also houses both our Head Office and our 142,000 sq ft modern racked warehouse.

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner who will be responsible in supporting our Transport Manager along with the transport team / Van and HGV drivers.

The Transport Planner will report directly to the Transport Manager, but will have the skills and confidence to work under mínimal supervision.

We are in a period of continual change and improvement. A business priority is driver retention and staff development. To help us achieve our goals, we will require a leader who will model an empathic and respectful attitude towards drivers, and draw on their experience to coach and upskill staff in positive and strength-based ways.

**Transport Planner Responsibilities**
- Assisting the Transport Manager planning vehicles in a busy transport depot, consisting of an office based transport team and 20+ drivers.
- To act as an available and approachable member
- To plan and backload vehicles.
- Maintaining customer relations
- Meeting targets and deadlines.
- Quality improvement.
- To work collaboratively and supportively with HR, accounts, warehousing, and transport manager and teams across other parts of the business
- Modelling attitudes and behaviour which reflects the company’s values and goals.
- Delegating tasks and responsibilities fairly amongst the team.

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday 10am - 7pm
- You will be expected to be on call from home 1 week on 1 week off - this will be having the company mobile from home - booking jobs etc ( this comes with additional salary)
