**Network Engineer** Multi Billion Pound industry leading company are recruiting for several new Network Engineers to join a high performing and growing international team. This role will be remote with ideally 1-2 days per week in the companies Oxfordshire head office. The roleis currently fully remote but soon to be a hybrid working. **Responsibilities** - Provide expertise to help make decisions and set priorities concerning all aspects of the network environment. - Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors for opportunities including the automation, network monitoring, reporting and analysis. - Participate as an active member of a transformation programme team, including daily and weekly meetings. - Create and implement low-level designs in alignment with architecture principles and standards. - Drive Continual Service Improvement (CSI), automation, monitoring, reporting and analysis. - Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors. - Ensuring all changes to the network are documented through Change Management Process. - Contributing to the improvement of processes and approaches within the department. - Adept and creative skills for solving complex network and security challenges across multiple functions. - Troubleshoot issues efficiently while effectively communicating escalations and outcomes. - Support the design, implementation and troubleshooting when required. - Be on a standby rotation to respond to availability incidents. **Required Experience** - Significant experience in Network Operations. - 5+ years network engineering experience. - The ability to create detailed Implementation, test and roll-out plans. - Strong written skills - technical documentation. - Intermediate problem-solving skills in multiple operating environments. - Strong understanding of network security. - Demonstrable experience in translating high level technical architectures and service design requirements into a clear and coherent low-level designs. - A strong background in supporting large Enterprise networks, global WANs and regional office LAN implementations, that support a diverse set of products and a geographically disparate workforce. - A good understanding of the total cost ownership and lifecycle management of network assets. - Experience in the automation of manual tasks and seeking out efficiencies. **Areas of expertise** **Technical**: - Intermediate knowledge of WAN/LAN - including routing experience eg Cisco. - Experience in Wireless, and Meraki. - Experience of Zscaler or other web security technologies. - Experience in network monitoring, performance and availability management or network automation concepts eg Solarwinds. - Ethernet point to point and VPN technologies. - Good knowledge of routing and tunnelling protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPSEC, GRE, and L2TPv3. - Good knowledge of high availability protocols such as VRRP, HSRP, LACP, PAGP. - Good knowledge of network virtualization technologies including MPLS and VRF. Knowledge of SD-WAN also advantageous. - Good knowledge of VPN and supporting technologies - Desirable knowledge using Terraform/Python to provide automation and experience of implementing "Infrastructure as Code"
