Research Associate in Computational Journalism

Are you interested in working within an internationally connected, world-leading multidisciplinary research team on a computational journalism project?
You will carry out research on identifying, collecting and coding data to represent the range and types of violations recorded over a period of time, using and augmenting existing datasets, as well as making use of Natural Language Processing and corpus analysis techniques and social science statistical methods to assist in the process of categorising, correlating and analysing qualitative and quantitative data. You will be expected to disseminate via national and/or international conferences and journals. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in this topic and in writing one or more high-quality research papers.
You should hold a PhD (or be near completion / have equivalent experience) in Social Science or Computer Science with a solid research background, and have proven experience working with and analysing large datasets and in computational and social science statistical methods, as well as the ability to work effectively with both internal colleagues and external project partners.
