**Hourly rate**:
£10.25

**Overall purpose and key skills**

As a kitchen porter you will work closely with the kitchen team, supporting our chefs and other colleagues, ensuring the team have a constant supply of clean and safe working equipment and assisting in delivering high quality freshly prepared food.

**Main Duties**

As a kitchen porter and member of the catering team, you will assist in delivering the following:

- Basic food preparation
- Washing up, cleaning and clearing all kitchen areas
- Unloading, checking and putting away deliveries
- Emptying bins, sweeping and mopping floors
- Completion of all relevant daily paperwork on time and accurately.
- Keeping the workplace clean and tidy, taking care of our recycling tasks and keep a safe working environment by following all our health and safety procedures.
- Deep cleaning fridges and storerooms to maintain kitchen safety standards

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**EXPERIENCE - Essential**
- Level 1 Food Safety Award
- Awareness of manual handling techniques
- Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
- Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the hospitality sector.
- Well-rounded experience including experience of cooking in all the main sections/areas of a kitchen.
- Must be able to work efficiently and prioritise tasks.

**DESIRABLE**
- Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award
- Level 2 Food Safety Awards
- Any relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Health and safety and risk awareness
- Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations (COSHH)
- GCSE (A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths
