**SENIOR LEGAL SECRETARY**required for my client based in Birmingham who are a firm of Solicitors specialising in the defence of serious crime. Frequently instructed to represent and defend in extremely serious cases, including some of themost notorious crimes prosecuted in recent times and often cases attracting the attention of the national press.

Priding themselves on thorough and robust defence case preparation, working hard to formulate novel points to enable to articulate powerfuland compelling submissions on behalf of those who they represent.
**The Position**
As a Senior Legal Secretary, you will join an existing team of solid talent comprising some of the best Solicitors and Barristers who are eminent within their profession. We are continually expanding and are now seeking to develop that team further by the additionof a Senior Legal Secretary to support the Principal Solicitors and Senior Litigator.
You will work in a very fast paced, challenging and demanding environment, you must be adaptable, possess the ability to be flexible and be ready to take on different challenges.
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
- Attending client conferences and taking notes
- Collating and indexing Court bundles and documents
- Communicating with clients and stakeholders within the Criminal Justice System
- Diary management, Digital audio transcription and General administrative duties and tasks
- Handling enquiries and screening telephone calls
- Maintaining orderly client files
- Production, preparation and amendment of legal documents, statements and forms
- Proofreading legal documents
- Provide guidance to junior and temporary secretaries when required to do so
- Take responsibility towards their own self-development
- Use initiative to progress files within the limits of their own ability

**Requirements**A Senior Legal Secretary shall have at least three years’ legal secretarial experience. They must have excellent computer / IT and organisational skills. They shall be required to have the requisite ability to communicate and liaise with clients and stakeholderswithin the Criminal Justice System in a confident manner.
They shall be able to undertake digital audio typing with a high degree of accuracy and speed with a minimum of 90 WPM. Furthermore, they should have a full, clean UK driving licence and access their own vehicle.

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and word processing
- Strong command of the English language
