**Sherbourne Recycling - Mobile Plant Operative Job Spec**

An opportunity to join the growing team at Sherbourne Recycling has arisen in the position of Mobile Plant Operator. The role covers several shift patterns on a rotating basis 05:00am to 13:00pm, 06:00am to 14:00pm, 14:00pm to 22:00pm, 15:00pm to 23:00pm. There are also sometimes ad-hoc overtime Saturday shifts required, 06:00 to 14:00.

**ROLE**

The role of Mobile Plant Operative will be as part of the MPO Team, and report into the Logistics Manager. Key responsibilities include:

- Operating electric-powered counterbalance truck with clamp and fork attachments to store materials and load them onto vehicles.
- Operating a wheeled loading shovel with a bucket; inputting recycling materials into storage bays and the recycling process, while controlling traffic management into the infeed hall.
- Operating the single and twin RAM balers to generate bales of materials for storage.
- Maintenance and cleaning of the outfeed hall to ensure a safe working environment.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Mobile Plant Operative experience is desired.
- Good communication skills working as part of a team.
- Able to work in a safe manner and identify dangers.

**Pay**: Temporary role: £12.62 per hour // Permanent role: £25,000 pa + benefits

**About Sherbourne Recycling**
Sherbourne Recycling Ltd is a joint partnership of eight local authorities across the West Midlands that is changing the face of recycling waste management. The company was founded in 2021 and tasked with designing, developing, and operating, a state-of-the-art Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) on behalf of its Council partners, providing a solution for processing its partner-council’s residential kerbside recycling collections.

It processes 47.5tns an hour on average and up to 175,000tns a year. All of its recycling materials stay in the U.K. to be reused. The recycling process utilises artificial intelligence, optical sorters, and the latest waste separation techniques to separate materials.
