Lascar Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join its busy purchasing team at the Old Sarum office. We are a fast-growing international electronics business, with offices in the UK, USA and Hong Kong, specialising in the design and manufacture of data loggers, smart graphic displays and custom electronic products.

Working with our offices in Hong Kong and the USA, you will take the lead in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Purchasing department, ensuring that parts are ordered, scheduled and delivered in accordance with the demands of the supply chain, utilising key relationships with colleagues and suppliers to achieve these goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Ordering and scheduling of parts, driven by MRP;
- Ensuring stock holding is kept at a safe minimum level, whilst achieving a minimum of 4 stock turns;
- Locating hard to find parts in the supply chain;
- Monitoring electronic component availability and advising the business of any obsolete, long lead times or increases in the price of components;
- Supplier negotiations;
- Management of the supply chain;
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with suppliers.

You must have good numeracy and IT skills and have great communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be confident and have good negotiation skills combined with knowledge of contract law. You must be able to prioritise your own workload, be meticulous with details and have good planning and organisation skills. Knowledge of electronics would be an advantage and so would experience of using MRP systems.

**Benefits**:
**Salary**: up to £30,000 depending on skills and experience.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 4pm

Holidays: starting entitlement of 22 days plus Bank Holidays increasing each year to a maximum of 28 days plus Bank Holidays.

Sabbatical: one month paid sabbatical after 6 years.
