At MSF UK/IE, we support MSF's operations by building relationships with our supporters, increasing awareness of our work, raising funds, providing specialist medical expertise, catalysing change on medical humanitarian issues, and recruiting field staff. In addition MSF continues to build upon its presence in Ireland to become a widely recognised, accepted and respected humanitarian organisation among Irish audiences, and within the Irish humanitarian and political sector.

**Position**:
**Hours: 40 hours per week**

**Duration: 6 months FTC**

**Salary: £51,856.84 per annum (48,356.84 p.a. non-London weighting)**

**MANSON UNIT (MU)**

The MU is a multi-disciplinary medical team within MSF UK and is the London based part of the PHD. We aim to improve the quality of MSF’s medical programmes worldwide, so the best possible care is delivered to our patients.

The MU is a team of 30 comprised of medical doctors and specialists in infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, health information systems, epidemiology, geographical information systems, medical editing and research communication. We also have a clinical trial team working towards improved treatments for patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis. We provide direct support to our field programmes through specialist advice on medical issues, implementing new ways of working, supporting research studies and outbreak response.

**JOB PURPOSE**

The Interim Medical Innovation Lead is responsible for ensuring continuity and effectiveness of all ongoing Innovation initiatives and projects. Working within the defined vision and strategy for medical innovation, the postholder will ensure the innovation system meets the needs of innovators whilst maintaining a focus on the impact for patients and health services.

The postholder is responsible for bringing together teams to work collaboratively, and for fostering a culture of evaluation and sharing of best practice in support of our field operations to benefit our patients and partners worldwide.

**DIMENSIONS**
- Coordinating the management c20 ongoing innovation projects.
- Ensuring the ongoing governance structures are maintained.
- Managing the Sapling Nursery fund allocation.
- Ensures each project has the appropriate project management tools, metrics and support for ethics and scaling.
- Accountable for successful relationship with the innovation project support agency and project partners.
- Responsible for managing the project consultants

**Requirements**:
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent working experience.
- Proven management capabilities, specifically portfolio/project management and team management.
- Strong influencing and communication skills, including persuasive presentation and interpersonal skills across diverse cultures.
- A demonstrable track record of promoting and driving human-centred innovation to produce optimal solutions (implemented or scaled).
- Proven experience in building networks and coalitions.
- Good knowledge of and networks within the humanitarian sector.
- Previous experience leading of participating in needs analysis, design and deployment of digital / IT tools.
- Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Proven experience of working independently under mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrable experience of working and constructively participating as part of a multi-cultural team.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; minimum C2 level.
