**Service/Ward/Department Summary**:
Stockport Enhanced IAPT Service/ Step 3.5 provide a range of evidenced based interventions for people requiring a psychological intervention of a complex nature. The post is within an Enhanced IAPT service and is part time 15hours on a temporary secondment to cover a career break.

**Key Responsibilities of the Post**:
To provide CBT and other therapies to complex clients referred into the Enhanced IAPT service.

To undertake and manage a clinical caseload and to prioritise work within agreed service criteria

To act autonomously in the assessment, formulation and implementation of appropriate treatment strategies for patients using a range of specialist therapeutic procedures

To support with service developments, as required, including the delivery of therapeutic groups and telephone treatment.

To liaise with other professionals as appropriate

To undertake clinical supervision to ensure safe therapeutic practice

To complete all documentation as required by the service

Healthy minds Stockport is a service which requires IAPT step 2,3 and 3.5 therapy to people referred aged 16 onwards.

The Step 3.5 team is a team that works with IAPT cases that may have more complexity and would benefit from a longer time frame in therapy.

Job Summary
The post holder will be part of an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service. The service provides evidence based psychological therapies for people who are experiencing common mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety disorders (as defined by IAPT) The post holder will provide evidence based CBT for the population of Bury who have self-referred/been referred into the service.

The post holder will be able to work with on a 1-1 and within a group setting delivering interventions.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical
- Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service and Healthy Minds operational Policy.
- Assess clients for suitability for psychological interventions, with specialist assessment of suitability for CBT.
- Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the Healthy Minds Operational Policy and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referrer as necessary.
- To act autonomously in the assessment, formulation and implementation of appropriate treatment interventions for a caseload of clients
- Use highly developed communication skills in working with people to understand their personal and often very sensitive difficulties
- To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients in line with the service.
- Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying CBT and other psychological formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language.
- Adhere to agreed expected clinical contacts to be delivered on a weekly basis
- Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
- Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols
- Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.

- Carry out clinical audits of service performance, including service user surveys and evaluations, and help to collate and disseminate the results for feedback.
