We are currently looking for a Senior Technician (Buildings) to join our busy team
**Salary**:£35k+ DOE +benefits
**Senior Technician (Buildings) Duties**:
- You will work as part of a team liaising with customers across the Port Estate, facilitating access for contractors, assist in organising PPM and reactive works and act as a main point of contact in support of the Ports Access and Use Technical Clerk.
- The role involves working closely with contractors to ensure works are completed in accordance with safety, technical and Statutory requirements and providing feedback as required.
- You will be skilled at fault identification and proactive in rectification.
- You will assist with the managing of reactive and PPM work orders, act as triage for work requests, provide information on work priorities and sequences and provide updates to contractors and customers at all levels, maintaining good working relationships.
- You will also act as an NEC3 ECC site supervisor to Projects and Small Works (Minor Projects) when required.
- You will have experience of working in a construction and maintenance environment, ideally with a building trade background, preferably with a carpentry bias.
- The role includes a degree of travel across the Port Estate and to provide occasional support other technical department disciplines and associated works.
**Senior Technician (Buildings) Requirements**:
- Ideally HNC/HND qualified in Building Surveying/Construction Management disciplines or similar NVQ qualifications or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the construction industry
- Good working knowledge of general building trades with demonstrable experience of facilities management/maintenance works
- Demonstrable understanding of Statutory Regulations, CDM Regulations and Health and Safety Legislation etc.
- Previous experience of working as a qualified construction trades operative (preferably as a carpenter) with a minimum of C&G Level 3 Diploma / NVQ Level 3 related qualifications
- Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
