We are looking for a talented PHP and JS developer to join the Workplace Interiors Company group. You will have the opportunity to work across a series of six+ websites, including e-commerce (WooCommerce) and brochure platforms implementing new featuresand functionality to drive online sales and enquiries.

Ideally you will have experience in delivering projects within a set deadline, have great attention to detail and be passionate about delivering great work.

**How we work**

We exclusively build all our projects on WordPress. We use WordPress as a back-end CMS and couple this with a bespoke front end 'theme’ which has been developed as our own in-house theme framework (based on Foundation 6).

Every project is structured in the same way, regardless of whether it’s a multimillion-pound e-commerce store, niche brochure site or holding page. The approach allows us to work seamlessly across multiple projects with ease.

We do not use any front-end web builders such as Divi, Oxygen, Beaver. Instead, our in-house theme framework is built as a headless(ish) theme which allows us complete freedom to build features that would often be limited by a front-end page builder.

**Responsibilities**:

- Day-to-day support and maintenance
- Investigating and resolving issues found by customers and the internal team
- Pro-active maintenance by reviewing log files and debugging deprecated code
- Minor front end updates to ensure the quality of the sites
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality
- Being involved in early discussions for new features and adding value by articulating how these could be achieve at a conceptual level
- Turning a UI design, wireframe or mock-up into a working, production ready feature
- Testing new features to ensure reliability
- Working with the team to suggest improvements based on data insights
- Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
- Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
- Ensure the sites remain lean by rebasing old code
- Proactively seek out opportunity to improve reliability and security
- Work on extending the admin interface and core functionality by using custom fields, hooks and filters
- At least 2 years’ experience with building custom WordPress themes and plugins
- Experience working from design concepts and wireframes
- Have an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development and deployment
- Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
- Knowledge of version control systems (GitHub)
- Understanding of front-end and back-end performance optimization techniques
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Experience with WordPress integration with Woo Commerce would be advantageous
- Experience with Foundation CSS Framework would be beneficial
