Experienced Landscaper

We aren’t your usual construction business. For a start, we design, install, manufacture and maintain amazing playgrounds and safety surfacing and our end users (the children) are the most discerning bunch you can imagine.
As part of a small business, you’ll have the ability to make a real difference with the work you do.
You’ll contribute to the success of our business and be rewarded accordingly. You’ll also have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of lots of children, including those for whom less inclusive playgrounds have previously been out of bounds.
We’re on the look out for great people to join our team.
If you’re interested in joining us, there are some key things that we are looking for.
We want you to join us if you:
- Care about the work you do;
- Consistently work to a high standard, understanding that getting the job right first time can mean the difference between lots of happy children exploring their new play area and lots of unhappy children who can’t be let loose on their playground if it’s unfinished or unsafe;
- Recognise that teamwork is everything and supporting your colleagues is an essential part of making a successful business;
- Want the opportunity to really make a difference.
- Work well as part of a team
At the moment, we are looking for Playground Installers to help us in delivering on our promises to our customers. Our Installers typically work in teams of three or four. You’ll be responsible for working with colleagues to ensure that work is delivered to the highest quality and to the project brief. This involves engaging with clients, interpreting technical drawings, following instructions and communicating well with others. Some of the specific responsibilities will include:
- Following an established sequence of works to ensure a safe and efficient installation
- Site work - general labour, excavation, assembly and installation of equipment
- Reading and following design plans, technical drawings, and installation instructions
- Using hand and power tools
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to carry out physically demanding work including heavy lifting
- Willingness to work flexible hours including regular overtime
- Regular travel when required, sometimes staying away for a number of nights at a time
- Communicating and working well with others on your team
- Providing excellent customer service and professionalism at all times
- Being comfortable working around inquisitive children (at times) and being able to talk to them while still getting the job done
About you
The role needs someone who is hardworking and takes pride in their work. Due to the nature of the role, physical fitness is essential.
Ideally you’ll have some relevant experience in construction, landscaping, groundworks or similar trades and you’ll be comfortable working with hand and power tools.
Essential requirements
- A full, clean(ish) UK driving licence
- An Enhanced DBS disclosure (We can provide this and it is mandatory for a permanent job offer)
- General construction knowledge and experience
- Familiarity with a variety of hand tools
- Punctual, presentable and professional
- Willingness to work and get stuck in
Desirable requirements
- CSCS card
- Other relevant qualifications such as telehandler, digger, dumper etc
- Experience in playground installation
