**The Kitchen**

Te kitchen team consists of the Kitchen manager, sous chef, chef and kitchen assistant.

We plan weekly lunch menus in advance for an office of over 300 employees. We regularly cater for 90 plus people each day. Lunch is served at 12:30 every day. The menus are seasonal and the dishes we cook are diverse offering a creative choice of two lunchoptions daily. We offer a full vegan, vegetarian and meat or fish main course dish each day and prepare alternatives for other dietary requirements as required. Most menus are fully prepared by the kitchen team from fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Weregularly repeat favourite dishes on our weekly menus but we also rarely write a week’s menu without introducing something new.

**The role - 8:30am - 4:30pm. 3-5 days / week**

**Duties**
- Helps with management of kitchen stock and ingredients.
- Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.
- Assists kitchen manager with menu creation.
- Supervises food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and a consistent standard

**Experience and qualifications**

**Essentials**

A passion for food and cooking as well as the ability to cater for 70+ people daily.

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience.

Ability to complete tasks efficiently and on time.

Experience of working in a busy and demanding kitchen.

Willingness to work across the range of roles within the kitchen.

A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and food practices.

Excellent communication skills.

Happy to take part in regular team meetings to maintain a high standard of kitchen working practices and team happiness.

**Desirables**

Experience of working in a large scale catering kitchen.

An interest in a diverse range of cuisines and an interest in cooking seasonally.

A range of dishes you would be happy to share on the menu.

A comprehensive understanding of food allergens and kitchen practise.

Basic food hygiene certificate.

Up to date allergen training.

Experience of handling food purchase and order planning.

Your role is to ensure consistent food production, and assist other kitchen staff as need arises. You are able to multi task and you have excellent knowledge on allergens, kitchen cleanliness etiquette, health and safety regulations.

Complete regular tasks list as expected from the kitchen manager within set timeframes. Supporting the team with regular cleaning/ washing tasks.

**SALARY AND BENEFITS**

Salary range is £29,500 to £33,300 negotiable, depending on experience - Pro rata
