Job title: HR Advisor

Location: Rochester

**Salary**: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

- Providing high quality HR advice and guidance directly to managers to facilitate the early resolution of difficult, complex or sensitive employee relations issues
- Supporting investigations in relation to disciplinary and grievance cases
- Supporting people managers in relation to employee cases of ill health, sickness absence and probation/ performance capability. Including providing advice to managers on policy/procedure and legislation, liaising with Occupational Health, supporting formal investigations
- Facilitating inductions and onboarding of new members of staff
- Building good working relationships with all line managers in order to better understand their needs and provide appropriate HR related support
- Produce, interpret and manage information and reports as required to enable effective use of data to inform HR activity and support business requirements
- Supporting the wider HR Team in implementing and embedding new strategies and initiatives across the organisation, undertaking continuous improvement within the HR function
- Supporting with the day to day running of the HR team as required including running regular reports, maintaining SharePoint, reviewing the HR inbox

Your skills and experiences:

- Previous HR advisor/ officer level experience
- CIPD Qualified to level 3
- A practical knowledge of Human Resources processes and administrative procedures
- Experience of employment legislation and best practice
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with managers and staff across all levels of the organisation

The HR team:
Working in a team of 10 HR professionals providing support to line managers, employees and peers. Electronic Systems in Rochester is a diverse organisation with a global customer base producing commercial and defence electronics for high integrity controls, active inceptor systems, head-up displays, head-mounted displays, power and propulsion systems as well as an avionics market service centre.

The HR Advisor role contributes to the overall success of the HR strategy by delivering a proactive and customer focused HR service across BAES Rochester. By providing effective support, guidance and advice to managers and employees on a wide variety of HR matters such as employee relations, policies and procedures and delivery of key projects.
