**Position Overview**: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Technical to lead the technical services department. This role combines the expertise of a building surveyor with a holistic understanding of architecture, data management, and strategic planning. The Head of Technical will play a pivotal role in driving the efficient management, optimisation, and enhancement of our clients’ assets through a data-driven approach.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Leadership and Strategy**:
Provide leadership for the department, aligning tactical objectives with overall business goals.

Develop and implement a comprehensive asset management strategy that integrates building surveying principles and architectural considerations.

**Data-driven Decision Making**:
Oversee the interpretation of data related to the social housing portfolio's assets, including condition assessments, maintenance histories, and performance metrics.

Utilise data insights to make informed decisions on informed developments of measures in line with client budgets.

**Architectural Integration**:
Collaborate with architectural experts to ensure that asset management strategies align with architectural goals, sustainability objectives, and regulatory requirements.

Integrate architectural considerations into the overall asset lifecycle management, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.

Develop solutions appropriate to the structure and fabric which will allow deployment of innovative measures / existing measures in innovative ways.

**Asset Performance Enhancement**:
Identify opportunities to improve asset performance, energy efficiency, and tenant satisfaction through architectural enhancements and innovative solutions.

Lead initiatives to upgrade and retrofit properties to align with modern architectural trends and sustainability standards.

**Maintenance and Lifecycle Management**:
Develop and advise on maintenance strategies that extend the lifecycle of assets.

Work closely with building surveyors to conduct thorough condition assessments.

**Regulatory Compliance**:
Stay abreast of relevant building regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure the business can meet legal and safety standards.

Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to navigate complex regulatory environments.

**Cross-functional Collaboration**:
Foster strong partnerships with internal teams, including finance, Commercial, and Data team, to ensure seamless data integration and alignment of asset management goals.

**Team Management**:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals including building surveyors and architects, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Architecture, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional certification or membership in relevant industry bodies.
- Proven experience in asset management, building surveying, and architectural design within the social housing sector.
- Strong data analysis skills with a track record of making data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of building regulations, codes, and compliance related to social housing.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management abilities. Ability to manage change effectively.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans but capable of working at a functional level when required.
- Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task and has a solutions focussed approach.
- Can do attitude with ability to communicate and relate to people on multiple levels.
