Logistics Supervisor

We are looking to recruit a Logistics Generic worker to provide a responsive and effective managed equipment service (MES) to all customers. Duties include the replenishment of goods, ordering of stocks and decanting goods.

You must be able to work effectively as part of a team under pressure and have a flexible attitude to your work to meet the service needs of the department.

A full UK driving licence is an essential criteria (2 years driving experience or about to be 2 years)

Support the Senior supervisor managing the team on a day to day basis. This role is running the team on a day to day basis. Manage the team brief daily raising any issues, concerns, supporting with ward reviews and product shortages. Ensuring the standards of the team are maintained. Support staff training and development. You will be responsible for rolling out any national concerns and enforcing the rota.

In addition to the day to management of the team it will be supporting the senior supervisor in meetings and stepping in when they are on holiday.

Assist in the provision of supply chain service to wards and departments, replenishing stock to agreed levels. Foster a highly professional and responsive client service by talking to clients about stock requirements and dealing with client queries. Seek to influence and encourage clients towards standardisation of products and cash releasing savings.

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.

We provide a range of non
- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA). In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

Whilst we await the outcome of the review of the Governments regulations in respect of mandatory vaccines we are continuing to ask all new recruits to provide evidence of their double vaccination status as part of pre-employment checking.

Advice and support clients
- Listen and engage about stock options, answer queries and resolve complaints for clients.
- Supervise the work of the team and ensure a courteous and quality service is delivered.
- Provide information for clients of any potential issues in the supply chain to ensure adequate stock of alternatives are available.
- Advise clients on the cost benefits of supply chain, lean principles.
- Accurately place orders onto the catalogues.

Receipt and distribution of stock
- Report any issues with receipt and distribution.
- Use manual handling equipment to carry out routine lifting duties in line with H&S Trust policy.
- Understand and follow routine supply chain receipting procedures to ensure agreed levels of service are achieved.
- Take responsibility for cross checking the good received against the goods ordered documentation.
- Make sure goods are made available for delivery to wards and departments.
- Ensure all receipt and distribution points and stock rooms are kept tidy and meet the H&S standards

Rationalise and standardise products
- Ensure routine products are delivered on time and meet the agreed quota.
- Impact on the non-pay spend, pick up on variations in price, highlight trends and achieve product rationalisation and standardisation.
- Purchase goods and services through approved and agreed e Procurement systems and ensure contract compliance.
- Carry out supply chain reviews, analyse reports to achieve cost effective stock holding.
- Ensure stock review meetings are planned and completed every six months, document all changes to provide a clear audit trail.
- Deliver discrete procurement work on time and within budget.
