Rm with An Interest in Diabetes

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 RM with an interest in diabetes to join the diabetic team in the MSE Women's' Clinic on a part time basis.
**With support from the Lead Midwife in diabetes**:
- Support and review care plans to help women with diabetes prepare for a safe and healthy pregnancy
- Agree, support and review new and continuing care plans for women with diabetes who are pregnant
- Agree, support and implement care plan to help women manage their diabetes during and after labour
- Identify symptoms of gestational diabetes - refer and asses
- Agree, support and review care plans with women who have gestational diabetes
- Work in partnership with other members of the MDT involved in providing care and support for women with diabetes
- To provide education for staff regarding the needs of women with diabetes
- To work as an independent non-medical prescriber, undertaking the relevant educational courses to work autonomously to adjust insulin doses
- Be willing to undertake a course in non-medical prescribing and other diabetes related courses
- In the absence of the Lead Midwife for diabetes undertake tasks designated by them
