**The Role**

Fresh People are currently recruiting for a European European Buyer on behalf of our Client a Food Supplier to the South East & London based Chef Network based at their new prestigious offices soon to be located in Dartford Kent.

Reporting into Purchasing Manager you will provide a vital service to the purchasing and sales team, building supplier relationships with non UK food suppliers.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Responsibility for the procurement of mainly our European products including, Fresh fruit and Vegetables, Dairy and Meat
- Forecast long term demand and availability across suppliers - including seasonal availability and demand
- Implement supply agreements and order process with suppliers outside the UK
- Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order-to-order materials, goods and supplies
- Review inventories and order as required
- Review deliveries against the orders
- Deal with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods
- Research potential vendors, for new range opportunities and price comparisons
- Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
- Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Review quality of purchased products
- Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
- Ensure close working with purchase ledger and accounts payable
- Addressing all price variances/queries
- Liaising with the goods in manager on booking in issues
- Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
- Communicating with two other sites to ensure goods are accurately booked in
- Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
- Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
- Month end reconciliations on the General Ledger
- Excellent communication skills, internally and externally, verbal and written
- Team ethos - with solid team working skills
- Self Start who is self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
- French & European Supplier Knowledge and experience
- Experience of RTM via Marché d'Intérêt National de Rungis
- Experience and Knowledge of European Hauliers
- Supplier matrix management for long term pricing and supply analysis
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Results orientated
- Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages
- Underpinning knowledge of SAP an advantage, however, training will be given.
