deverellsmith have partnered with one of the UK's most successful residential property developers, to source a Paralegal to join this family run property business. Our client specialises in purchasing deteriorating listed buildings, providing necessary investment,and re-purposing into residential apartments, affordable living, offices, or hotels, whilst maintaining Britain's historic identity through its Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

This position will be responsible for working on all legal Group matters - primarily involving property law but at times being involved in issues involving other areas of the law.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the Group General Counsel in handling cases dealing with numerous property transactions within the Groups portfolio
- Assisting in the drafting of formal legal documents, such as contracts and licences, as well as correspondence with other parties
- Assisting in the general management of the Groups property portfolio
- Assisting in preparation for meetings
- Drafting reports
- Performing research on applicable regulations, laws, and legal matters
- Collecting relevant important papers for the General Counsel to review
- Keeping files organised and up to date in paper and/or electronic format
- Arranging and attending meetings and site inspections
- Performing basic clerical tasks, such as photocopying, making and receiving phone calls, and fielding correspondence

**To be considered**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable handling large workloads under time constraints
- Strong organisational skills, familiar with electronic document management and filing systems, ability to prioritise adapt and use initiative
- Superior research and computer skills; detail-oriented
- High level of discretion with confidential matters
- Legal knowledge desirable but not essential
