Our client is a publicly listed software & services organisation helping their customers to accelerate their ability to take advantage of new business models and market opportunities. The Head of SOx & Controls is fundamental to the effectiveness of the finance function. The position will play a key role in ensuring that the necessary group SOx controls, compliance, policies and procedures are in place.
- Work with senior management on all aspects of the Group’s SOx compliance programme and projects, including planning, scoping, controls testing, control deficiency resolution management and reporting.
- Ownership for the implementation, completion and maintenance of SOx internal control certification requirements. Partnering with the process owners to review existing processes, design controls, and to map and document all new processes and procedures
- Support group finance with maintaining tight internal control and ensure that the Company is kept up to date with recent SOx requirements and current best practices of comparable companies
- You will manage an existing SOx team of eight. You will also work closely with the Finance Shared Services team as well as various IT process owner and will assist group internal and external audit where required to understand the control environment and business processes.
- Other key responsibilities include working with the integrations team to ensure integration of acquired businesses.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Proven SOx compliance experience - either implementations for clients, or in a senior role within a listed company’s SOx team, driving the overall SOx programme
- You will have demonstrable and deep knowledge of SOx requirements including IT general controls, process documentation tools, controls environments and of performing audits and walkthrough tests and understanding of COSO 2013.
