**Title: CNC Operator / Machine Operative**
The Best Connection are working with our client who are a well established engineering company, manufacturing equipment for the construction industry. They have an immediate requirement for a CNC Machinist at their Sunderland site.
Duties will include:
- Programme, set up, adjust and operate **HAAS VF7 and VF11** controlled CNC machines to perform precision milling operations in batches from 1 off - 50 off parts.
- Read engineering drawings and understand specifications and tolerances
- Study sample parts, drawings and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to produce products.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
- Manufacture bespoke parts and their dimensions using precision instruments such as micrometers and DTI’s
- A recognised time served apprenticeship and be proficient in creation and modification of CNC code.
- Previous experience of programming, set and operating millers and be competent in HAAS controls.
- Previous experience of working in a similar high precision environment.
Hours of work:
- Nightshift
- Monday - Wednesday 21.00pm - 07.30am & Thursday 20.30pm - 07.00am
Rate of pay:
- Basic pay rate of £13.00 per hour plus £2.00 per hour shift allowance for first 40 hours
- Overtime is paid at £19.50 per hour from 40 to 45 hours,
- After 45 hours overtime is paid at £21.66 per hour
**Benefits & Requirements**:
- Hourly rate as above (not age dependent)
- 28 days Paid Annual Leave pro-rata for PAYE (inclusive of statutory holiday)
- Overtime Available
- Possible permanent position following a successful trial period
- Shift Premiums
