Do you have previous experience working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, or related work such as nursing/care or AHP assistant?

Do you have experience of supporting people with mental health conditions, neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia) or learning disabilities?

If so we would love to hear from you as we are looking for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team working within a specialist perinatal multidisciplinary team working with women and families on the ward, in the local area, or client’s home.

You will be delivering a high quality clinical service to patients and their families, offering occupational therapy interventions in accordance with an agreed care plan. Working with an identified group of people experiencing mental health related difficulties in the perinatal period under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist.

To carry a designated caseload which remains the responsibility of the registered Occupational Therapist, often working without direct supervision in a variety of community settings, including the service users own home and in the community i.e. library

To provide occupational therapy support to service users who have a range of perinatal mental health conditions to enable them to maintain, restore or create a balance between their abilities and the demands of their occupation and environment in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure.

To engage service users and their carers in co-produced/planned therapy programmes and encourage them in a compassionate manner, towards achieving their identified goals and to promote independence and well-being through a client centred approach.

To provide the best possible experience for service users and carers.

To show commitment to and participate in quality improvement activities.

To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.

To promote at all times a positive image of the occupational therapy service/neighbourhood and the wider Trust.
