**Summary of role**

Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the purchasing function.

To support the Purchasing Manager and team in ensuring we deliver the optimal product availability to customers (measured in line fill %) with the mínimal stock investment.

**Main responsibilities and Duties**:
Placing daily purchase orders (both depots) including obtaining acknowledgements

Daily review and action of outstanding purchase order report including updating Merlin system and liaising with customer services

Responsibility as part of the purchasing team to highlight and action potential stock level issues when they are identified

Liaising directly with suppliers to progress orders/resolve queries

Process booking in paperwork and maintain booking in calendar

Deal with pricing requests from Sales in a timely manner

Help improve the flow of communication across the business ensuring customer satisfaction is met

Think about and influence OTIF at all times (not just within your own department)

Work with other departments to help identify and resolve issues, the issues needs everyone’s focus until the customer has what they want even if you are not responsible for carrying out the resolution

Dealing with product / stock queries and the purchasing inbox including liaising with the warehouses

Play an active role in dealing with points on the Back-Order Report along with other departments

Monitor Supplier price files along side the data and inventory controller

Dealing with purchase invoice discrepancies

Ad hoc data maintenance

Assistance with the preparation and completion of stocktakes

Undertake additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Work with purchasing manager to identify potential price decreases

Manage and improve supplier relationships

- Ambitious with a desire to succeed
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised and structured in approach
- High levels of integrity and standards
- Numerate, articulate and IT literate, with competency in MS packages.

You should also be and numerate and IT literate with experience using the MS office packages.

Previous use of Merlin business software or similar P2P system would be advantageous.

35 hour work week (8.30 - 4.30)

This role offers a competitive salary dependant on skills/experience

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
