**About the role**:
This specialist provision is working with Vision for Education to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant. Throughout the role of an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children and young people who have complex needs with their academic and personal goals. This can include assisting the class teacher by working on a 1:1 basis with a student who requires extra support with their day to day life at school or working in small break out groups to promote engagement. You may also be asked to take part in break and lunch time supervision as well as making sure all pupils get into and out of school safely at the beginning and end of the day. This is a full time/long term role, meaning the appointed SEND Teaching Assistant will be working between the hours of 08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday.

**About the school**:
This SEND school, located in Sunderland, supports children and young people aged between 11 and 19 who have complex needs including Autism, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and Challenging Behaviours.

**Requirements**:
To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

- Must have enhanced DBS registered on the update service/ be willing to go through the DBS process if do not already hold certificate
- Must have experience working with SEND pupils and be passionate about their progress
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must be kind, caring and compassionate
