**What Smithridge are looking for**
We are looking for applicants who have an empathetic and understanding nature, those who have a desire to aid children and young people in achieving their aspirations. Applicants who can be resilient and be able to manage challenging behaviors in a caring and considered manner.

**Responsibilities as a Residential Support Worker**
- Be a positive role model to young people by supporting them to grow and develop in all aspects of their lives.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to young people.
- Ensure best practice is followed by following all guidelines with the care given to the young people.
- Carry out domestic tasks to maintain the upkeep of the home and ensure health and safety is followed.
- Following care plans provided for individuals and ensure that any relevant paperwork is completed.

**Essential**
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- At least 1 year experience working with Children.
- Must be 21 years of age and above.

**Desirable**
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and young people residential - Or working towards.
- Experience in working within settings where skills and knowledge are transferable in the therapeutic parenting role.
- Experience in working within settings where skills and knowledge are transferable in supporting those with a learning difference.
- **The company is unable to sponsor employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.**_

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm, Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: £12.82-£14.00 per hour
