Energi has also started to build its first Waste to Energy plant at a site in Drakelow, Derbyshire.

**The Opportunity**:
Vital Energi is undergoing significant growth to meet the increasing demand for energy-saving and low-carbon energy projects in both public and private sector environments. We are continuously seeking motivated and talented individuals with an interest in the energy sector to join us on our journey of achieving net zero carbon emissions.

We are currently seeking to appoint an Energy Markets & Compliance Assistant to support the Energy Markets & Compliance Manager to provide insight into an increasingly dynamic energy market. Working under the direction of the Energy Markets & Compliance Manager you will administer a number of key legislative and compliance activities including Capacity Market, Medium Combustion Plant Directive and Renewable Heat Incentive in support of current and future company operations.

This position will be primarily office based within our Solutions team, located at our Blackburn office, and will provide energy market and compliance support for the wider business across the UK. The role will be key in developing energy solutions which deliver financial savings and carbon reduction to support the overall goal of becoming a zero carbon society. The role provides excellent career progression opportunities.

**The Role**:
The Energy Markets & Compliance Assistant will be required to:

- Research and monitor energy and carbon markets, helping administer:

- Environmental permitting and UK ETS with the Environment Agency
- Heat network regulations and RHI with Ofgem
- Capacity Market and other Grid Services with National Grid and Distribution System Operators
- Advise operations teams, Business Development Managers, Account Directors and Development Engineers of current legislative and compliance requirements. Detailing the financial implications on our technical and commercial solutions
- Liaise directly with customers to communicate changes in the energy market and their ongoing compliance obligations
- Assist with preparing and delivering client focused energy, commercial and carbon reduction strategy presentations and proposals
- Become familiar with the project development process
- In line with corporate values, processes, procedures and designated company systems, ensure that all business activity within the role is conducted safely, consistent with business delivery and growth
- A flexible approach to working practices and hours is required to meet the needs of the role, including occasional travelling across the UK

**The Person**:

- Skills and Experience: _
- Desirable to be professionally qualified to Degree/ HND/ HNC level
- Energy generation and energy distribution systems within public sector and private sector installations (desirable)
- Carbon reduction systems/technologies (desirable)
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous
- Competencies: _
- Ability to organise and prioritise a number of different workstreams
- Ability to communicate complex ideas and information effectively, both verbally and in writing in a courteous manner, and use language and a style of communication that is appropriate to the situation and audience
- A passion for decarbonisation
- A willingness to read and understand changes to energy related regulation in a very dynamic environment
- Ability to build and maintain internal relationships with colleagues to work effectively as part of a team.
