**Part-Time Conservation Officer**

We are seeking a passionate Part-Time Conservation Officer to exclusively focus on leading our conservation initiatives and nurturing relationships with conservation charities.

**Position Overview**:
As the Conservation Officer, you will be an essential member of our conservation team, solely responsible for driving our zoo's conservation efforts and establishing strong partnerships with reputable conservation charities. Your dedication and expertise in wildlife conservation will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to protect endangered species and their habitats while engaging the local community in meaningful ways.

**Responsibilities**:
Conservation Strategy: Develop, implement, and oversee the zoo's conservation strategy, identifying priority species and habitats for conservation initiatives.

Partnership Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with conservation charities, NGOs, governmental agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to collaborate on joint conservation projects and initiatives.

Fundraising and Grants: Identify potential funding opportunities and write grant proposals to secure financial support for conservation programs and projects.

Conservation Education: Collaborate with the education team to develop conservation-focused educational materials, programs, and activities for visitors and school groups.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyse data related to conservation and sustainability efforts, produce reports, and communicate findings to management.

Community Outreach: Organise and participate in community outreach programs, workshops, and events to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and the zoo's efforts.

Environmental Advocacy: Advocate for environmental policies and actions that support wildlife conservation, both locally and nationally.

Environmental Sustainability: Work closely with the zoo's sustainability team to identify and implement eco-friendly practices within the zoo and encourage green initiatives within the community.

**Key skills and requirements**:
Proven experience in wildlife conservation, preferably with an emphasis on managing conservation projects and partnerships.

Strong knowledge of conservation issues, best practices, and current trends in the field.

Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience in grant writing and preparing reports.

Demonstrated passion for wildlife conservation and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Availability to work part-time hours, with flexibility to attend occasional events and meetings outside regular working hours.
