Role Profile:
The Conservation Programme Coordinator will support the International Operations team and other programme staff both in the UK and overseas to ensure effective delivery of programmes. A significant part of the role will be providing support to ZSL’s field programmes in Africa and Asia. The post will contribute to all aspects of the Programme including supporting project development, fundraising, administrative support to overseas programme staff, and communications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide technical support to the programme management team on project design and management, implementation and monitoring and evaluation
- Prepare and review memorandam of understanding agreements (MoUs) and contracts and agreements
- Arrange travel requirements
- Prepare monthly programme summary reports
- Keep the ZSL Projects Database up to date
- Source, procure and inventory equipment and materials
- Support with tracking project activities to ensure that deliverables are achieved according to the grant contract, work-plan and budget
- Produce project maps for Africa and Asia country programmes
- Coordinate operational support from UK-based teams in other departments to ensure efficient and timely support to overseas teams
- Work with other programme staff to produce communication and promotional materials, manage the Africa Twitter account and keep the ZSL website up to date

Person Specification:
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Experience of supporting with technical report writing
- Experience of data analysis and monitoring and evaluation
- Experience of supporting with writing fundraising proposals
- Experience in assisting conservation projects in Africa and/or Asia
- Experience of working in developing countries is desirable
- Experience of communications is desirable

**Knowledge**
- A good understanding of current international biodiversity conservation issues
- A working knowledge of the project cycle and project management tools is desirable
- Skills in GIS and SMART

**Skills & Abilities**
- Well-developed skills in using MS office packages, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Strong organisational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities and carry out multiple tasks to deadlines
- Fluent spoken and written English essential
- Ability to communicate in French, Portuguese and/or any other language in addition to English is highly desirable
- Strong writing skills and excellent attention to detail
