**Disability Support Assistant - Classroom Based**

**Key Responsibilities**:
As a Disability Support Assistant, you will be working closely with pupils to support their individual learning needs. The role involves assisting in the delivery of a curriculum focused on life skills, social emotional, and communication skills. You will help provide a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive. Your role will include working collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to implement learning plans, encourage independence, and offer support in areas such as social interaction and emotional regulation. Some personal care duties may also be required as part of the role, depending on individual pupil needs.

**Person Specification**:

- Experience in a care background or experience in a SEND role.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to working with young people with special needs.
- Ability to support the learning and personal development of students with a focus on life skills.
- Comfortable with some personal care duties.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help students succeed.

**Logistics**:

- **Position**: Full-time or Part-time
- **Hours**: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
- **Location**: Cockermouth, Cumbria.
