**Job description**:
**About the Group**
The **International Group** advises ministers on promoting and protecting the UK’s international economic interests, to ensure the UK thrives in an ever-changing global economy. We do this through our policy and operational work on a range of areas ranging from free trade agreements, climate change, countering illicit finance, financial sanctions to supporting developing countries and managing our relationship with Europe, US, and emerging markets.
We support the Chancellor and senior officials in building relationships with a wide range of external and international partners and represent the UK in a range of international organisations, such as the G7, the G20 and the International Monetary Fund as well as Multilateral Development Banks. We also analyse what is happening in the world economy, and control spending on international development. Although international travel is an important part of some roles, it is not required for every role in the group and will be specified if required.
**About the Team**
The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) was created in 2016 to improve the understanding, implementation and enforcement of financial sanctions in the UK, to ensure that financial sanctions make the fullest possible contribution to the UK’s national security and foreign policy goals and maintain the integrity of, and confidence in, the UK financial services sector.
It aims to:
- raise awareness of and compliance with financial sanctions among various business sectors in the UK
- rapidly detect, respond to and address financial sanctions breaches and
- provide a professional service to businesses and others affected by financial sanctions.
**Key Accountabilities**
OFSI is recruiting for a Range C role in its domestic engagement branch.
The role has opportunities for working across OFSI, Whitehall and industry. While experience in financial sanctions is welcomed, it is not essential for this role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead stakeholder relationship management with key sector/s such as finance, legal, humanitarian, import/export, trade bodies (exact sectors to be determined once in post), acting as a key point of contact.
- Identify operational issues where there may be a communications solution and taking this forward in collaboration with other members of OFSI.
- Lead strands of OFSI engagement plan to enable OFSI to maximise its reach in an efficient and cost-effective way.
- Work autonomously and proactively on projects, keeping key individuals informed and obtaining sign-off at critical points.
- Create alerts, publish documents, and edit GOV.UK pages using bespoke IT portals with confidence.
- Manage events and stakeholder queries from inception through briefing to delivery.
