You will be working 37.5 hours a week at Braeburn House in Salford, a modern purpose-built rehabilitation and recovery service for males suffering from a primary diagnosis of mental illness that have already progressed in their journey of recovery but stillrequire further support and intensive interventions. With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will work with the service user on an individual or group work basis to enable and rehabilitate their level of function in these activities to maximise independence. Working with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of the occupational therapy service, which will see you carrying out service development projects. As an Occupational Therapist, you will create individual rapports to design and deliver facilitated evidence-based group and individual programmes based on their needs and interest to ensure they engage in their care plans. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you’ll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals. **Your responsibilities**: - Plan and implement individual and group interventions collaboratively with patient/s. - Maintain accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and professional standard. - To work in partnership with the service users to establish realistic and achievable Occupational Therapy goals and contribute to the overall multi-disciplinary treatment approach. - To comply with RCOT Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, HCPC, national and local policies and procedures. - When required assess, prescribe, and fit a range of therapeutic equipment which will maintain and or restore a service users level of function in a range of activities and environments. - Establish effective communication with patients and their cares, all staff and other agencies. - To fulfil a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining a caseload, meeting the standards set in the Occupational Therapy department care-pathway while adhering to HPC regulations. - Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department care-pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure. **To be successful in this role, you will need**: - Registered OT with Dip COT qualification or degree - Experience working with people with neurological needs - Evidence of fieldwork and or employment within the Rehabilitation field of Psychiatry. - Member of British Association of Occupational Therapy - Experience in working with Forensic patients. - Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting - Knowledge and practical experience of the Occupational Therapy process in mental health or neurological settings - Experience, knowledge and skill in supervising OT staff and students **What you will get**: - Annual salary of £27,591 + Benefits - The equivalent of 33 days annual leave - plus your birthday off - Free meals and parking - Wellbeing support and activities
