**Job summary**:
The Director of Strategy and Policy organisation leads the development of RN strategy, through a strategic balance of investment process, manages RN engagement with Ministers, the Ministry of Defence, Parliament, the other Front-Line Commands, allied Navies, Other Government Departments, the Maritime Enterprise, academia and think tanks and the general public; developing and coordinating corresponding Navy policy.

**Job description**:

- This post is in the small dedicated AUKUS team within the Strategy and Policy 2* Directorate. AUKUS is a significant and exciting opportunity for the RN; delivery of many of the capabilities associated with it will be by the Navy. The team are responsible for ensuring the RN is well placed within AUKUS, working closely with DNO, FMC and SPO colleagues as well as widely across the RN and Whitehall to ensure RN equity is identified and opportunities and risks effectively managed.**Person specification**:
This is an exciting and responsible role that looks across the breadth of Strat Plans, AUKUS and Strat Eng, assisting in the smooth delivery of outputs of senior team members. The role holder will work as a key component of the Strategy and Policy team, delivering vital support to both DD Strat Plans & AUKUS and DD Pol Eng in the managing of time, resources and scheduling, enabling effective delivery of key priorities.

The Strategy and Policy Directorate 2* area employs agile working to deliver business outputs; as a member of a Scrum team, the post holder would work in an agile way to deliver team outputs, as prioritised by the team’s Product Owner.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer the diary and engagements of DD Pol & Eng, including liaising with multiple stakeholders and ensuring DD Pol & Eng can conduct business efficiently.

2. Administer the diary and engagements of DD Strat Plans & AUKUS, including liaising with multiple stakeholders and ensuring DD Strat Plans & AUKUS can conduct business efficiently.

3. Support both business units with administrative duties, including conference bookings and preparation of meeting materials.

4. As part of Team Agile, work as directed to provide both business units, administrative and HR support.

5. Raise and resolve Information Technology issues with the SPOC and act as the liaison with the helpdesk and business unit members until the issue is solved.

6. Other duties as requested by DD Strat Plans & AUKUS / DD Strat Eng.
