- Bristol**My client design and manufacture electro-mechanical equipment within the Oil & Gas, Railway and Industrial sectors. They are looking to take on an Engineering Buyer, on a permanent basis, in the Bristol area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone whois looking to expand their skills within the engineering industry by working for a dynamic, expanding business.
**The Engineering Buyer will ideally have the following attributes**: - Formal qualification in Engineering (HNC/ HND/ Degree) or have the equivalent work experience with transferable skills
- Previous experience of contract and cost negotiation and reduction
- Be confident in developing professional relationships
- Being able to read from electro / mechanical engineering drawings
- Any experience within Project Management is desirable
- CIPS qualification is an advantage but not essential
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Be able to work well alone as well as part of a team
**The Engineering Buyer role will involve**:
- Managing and developing the Supply Chain to cost and delivery targets for components and products
- Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Identifying areas for continuous improvement
- Achieving personal annual cost reduction targets
- Managing a supplier portfolio
- Minimizing inventory
- Establishing key relationships with stakeholders
- Managing the implementation of supply chain projects
- Identifying suitable suppliers for manufacture of components
- Negotiating preferential commercial terms
