We have a new opportunity available for a Digital Junior Tester. This position has come about due to a continued digital push of Cromwell Tools. You’ll be joining a very talented digital and QA team, building out our manual and automated testing frameworks utilising the latest software engineering tools and techniques.

This is a remote position with the option of working in the office in our Digital department. We understand that remote working is not for everyone, so working on-site would be welcomed if you choose.

Are you a positive, capable individual with manual and automation testing abilities? We require a Junior tester for our new web platform.

**Deliverables**:

- Helping to maintain and define the manual test framework, working with the test lead to produce prioritised test plans.
- Implement and support test processes that enable a robust test strategy to deliver good quality products.
- Develop automated test code, tracking and improving coverage.
- Testing new product releases, providing detailed explanations of issues and escalating them to the rest of the team.
- Assisting other software engineers with bug identification, reproduction and resolution.
- Testing the Cromwell site with a strong focus on user experience.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Writing test automation scripts with JavaScript and NodeJS using the Cypress test framework.
- Working in a Scrum team and the delivery of software in sprints. Understanding of other delivery methodologies including waterfall, KANBAN, TDD will be to your advantage.
- Developing tests for all stages of the testing cycle including both manual and automated tests.
- Performing manual testing throughout the life cycle of software development including at the point of release.
- Producing comprehensive, digestible and informative documentation regarding test processes, test executions reports, bugs and test evidence
- Documenting bugs and test cases in a way that will allow anyone to be able to understand them, not just those with a technical background.
- Industry experience of manual and automated testing, ideally e-commerce
- Strong knowledge of working with JavaScript and NodeJS. Cypress experience and a good understanding of asynchronous code is preferred.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Experience using API testing tools such as Postman.
- Understand HTTP request and responses.
- Understanding of BDD, specifically Gherkin syntax and writing both manual and automated tests using it.

**Our Junior tester will need to**:

- Show good attention to detail when performing tests and documenting results
- Be comfortable collaborating with other testers and developers and is comfortable communicating when something is not right.
- Be curious and keen to learn new skills, practices and technologies.
- Think creatively and be able to think around requirements to fully test the site.
- Care about shipping high quality products.
- Take ideas and run with them.
- Understand the importance of providing good user experience.
- Be proactive in their work.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills as you will be regularly discussing new features, functionality, user stories and bugs with your colleagues.

**Don’t worry if you don’t have all the skills required, as a Junior we will provide on the job training.**

**We are based at offices in Leicester, close to local amenities if you decide to work on-site.
